DDA to develop app for STF to handle grievances more effectively

New Delhi: Delhi Development Authority is going to develop a dedicated mobile application for its Special Task Force to address the issue of illegal constructions more effectively. The decision has been taken to avoid delays while using the existing centralised complaint management system that relies on the 311 app and DDA’s portal to handle all types of complaints.
“The new app aims to streamline the complaint management process and ensure prompt action against illegal construction. We have invited the quotations for development of the app on both Android and IOS and it will be developed in two months’ time after the finalisation of an agency,” stated a DDA official. DDA’s STF is a specialised unit focused on monitoring grievances related to land encroachment by individuals or entities. Supreme Court is currently overseeing its activities. DDA has developed a web-enabled software to monitor grievances submitted by the public online or physically by the officials concerned of the STF cell. “These grievances are then forwarded to the nodal officer of the organisation concerned and then to the grid officer to take necessary action on it,” stated the authority in the proposal. Now, the app will allow complainants to register, create a user ID, submit grievances with area and description, and track the status of their complaints. Then the nodal officer will be provided access to a dashboard displaying the total number of grievances, along with counts of pending, under process, final action, and closed grievances. The nodal officer will also have the option to forward complaints to the grid officer and other organisations or choose a “no action required” option with remarks for irrelevant grievances.
The grid officer will have options to search and get updates if a grievance is transferred more than three times to other organisations and further action is needed. tnn
