Spice Island Beach Resort has revealed the appointment of Sheldon Keens-Douglas as its new Resort Manager, starting July 1, 2025, marking an important step in the resort’s continued growth and development. With over two decades of experience in luxury hotel management, tourism marketing, and brand communications, Keens-Douglas is poised to usher in a new era of growth and service excellence for the Grenadian property. His leadership journey at Spice Island Beach Resort began in January 2024 when he was appointed as Commercial Director. During his tenure, he played an instrumental role in enhancing the resort’s brand visibility, increasing occupancy rates, and expanding its international market reach.
Keens-Douglas brings a wealth of expertise in both strategic marketing and day-to-day operations, having previously worked with renowned hospitality brands, including several Four Seasons properties. His deep understanding of the hospitality industry, coupled with his dedication to guest satisfaction, makes him the ideal candidate to lead the resort into its next phase. As Resort Manager, Keens-Douglas will spearhead the resort’s vision, manage daily operations, and ensure that the property continues to offer an exceptional experience for guests from around the world.
Spice Island Beach Resort has appointed Sheldon Keens-Douglas as its new Resort Manager, effective July 1, 2025. Keens-Douglas has been with the resort since January 2024, serving as the Commercial Director. In this role, he significantly contributed to elevating the resort’s brand presence, boosting occupancy rates, and broadening its international market reach.
A seasoned hospitality professional from Grenada, Keens-Douglas brings over 20 years of expertise in luxury hotel management, tourism marketing, and brand communications to his new position. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing and tourism management from Cornell University, one of the world’s premier hospitality management schools in New York.
Keens-Douglas’ journey with Spice Island Beach Resort dates back to the early stages of his career, when he worked as an Assistant Manager from 2001 to 2006. During this time, he honed his skills in operations, guest relations, and service excellence, laying the foundation for his continued success in the hospitality industry.

With a wealth of experience in hotel management across several Four Seasons properties, Keens-Douglas has also spearheaded regional marketing and communications strategies throughout the Caribbean during his tenure at C&W Communications. Additionally, he is the founder of SPEAK Inc., a consultancy that focuses on hospitality training, branding, and public relations.
In his new capacity as Resort Manager, Keens-Douglas will bring the president’s vision to life, oversee the management team, and handle the day-to-day operations of the resort.
